This group is being started by the President of the San Antonio chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT) to provide information on chapter meetings, events, workshops and outings related to native plants of the San Antonio area. Individuals who are interested in the enjoyment, identification, protection and utilization of native plants are invited to join this group. The Boerne Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas loves all things native! We hold monthly meetings, excluding July and August (too hot!), volunteer events, organized nature walks/hikes, and educational classes. Our monthly meetings feature awesome professional speakers and cover topics ranging from pollinators and landscaping to native orchids and Hill Country trees. This is a meetup focused on herbalism and plant medicine. We learn these subjects through herbology classes, events, scenarios and exercises that are all based on practical, herbal medicine in the field, at home, in a post-disaster setting, in wilderness or urban settings. Additionally, we teach standard Wilderness First Aid Certification. Herbal Medics is working on becoming a 501(c)(3) organization in 2012.
